Andrew Schaw

Andrew is a connoisseur and dealer of fine musical instruments who operates in New York, NY. His specialty lies in the purchase and sale of rare violins, violas, cellos, and bows. Andrew also accepts consignments, and on occasion, he purchases instruments outright. If you are interested in his services, please note that he is available by appointment only.

Andrew is currently a member of the NYC Ballet Orchestra Violin Section. Before joining the NYC Ballet he was a member of the Chicago Lyric Opera. As a member of the NY musical communities he has performed with most of the major ensembles in NY and has toured both in Europe and in Asia.

Andrew is a graduate of the Juilliard School Pre College Division and holds a Bachelors and Masters of Music degree from the Juilliard School where he was a student of Dorothy Delay. Some of his other teachers include Felix Galimer, Nina Beilina, Shmuel Ashkenasi and Roman Totenberg.

Andrew has participated in various festivals including Tanglewood, and the Aspen Music Festival. As a chamber musician he has performed and recorded extensively in the NY area. He has taught at the summer master classes in the Chateau de Champs Materclasses in Paris and at the Luzern Music Festival.
